Page 66 of "Mosquito Thunder - No 105 Sqn at War 1942-1945" (Stuart R Scott, Sutton) records a sortie by a 139 Sqn crew in DZ346/XD-J.
The serial is also given in the 139 Sqn ORB at: https://discovery.nationalarchives.g...ils/r/D8388397
However, there is no mention of this aircraft serving with 139 Sqn in either the Air-Britain serials book or at: http://www.airhistory.org.uk/dh/_DH9...odn%20list.txt
where only 1655 MTU is mentioned.
Can anyone please confirm whether this aircraft was ever with 139 Sqn?
Answering my own question, there is no official record of DZ346 being with 139 Sqn:
http://lancasterbombersinfo.ipage.co...8-DZ360/0.html
It was TOC by 1655CU on 8Oct42, Cat E on 31Oct42, SOC 11Nov42.
However, all three units (105 Sqn, 139 Sqn, 1655 CU) were based at Marham, so it must be possible that a bit of "off-record" loaning between units took place.
