Default 155499 John Caswell Whitley RAF service

    Hi all,

I would like to ask if anybody can add more detals to the WWII service of 155499 John Caswell Whitley?
I have all details from the LG but I am interested in other details.
I suppose he was a pilot?
Also any units he served with would be much appreciated, mainly from the end of WWII - 1944-1945.

    Edit:
I think this ma be him earning the Royal Aero Club Aviators’ Certificate in 1947

    There was a Sgt J C Whitley on 61 Squadron in July/August 1943.

He was captain of Lancaster W4236 that went missing on ops on 9th/10th August 1943. He evaded three of the crew were killed.

Edit ORB confirms 1392461 one and the same
