Just so ridiculous that it will be 2025/2080 before we will be able to see these details, some of which if like those we can already see, are incorrect in relation to the aircraft serial number and have had the correct one brought to our attention by members of this forum.

Sorry for what may be a stupid question, but what do the Air 81 packs actually physically contain? Just a casualty card, of multiple paper files?

I was wondering in connection with my query about Hurricane 'NA680' and Sgt. R. F. Southern, and whether it was worth getting someone to copy the file.

Regards, and Happy New Year to everyone,

It can vary enormously . From photos with battered and burnt ID discs in the file - to a single sheet of paper

Our community owes a huge debt of thanks to Paul McMillen for his tireless work on cataloguing various aspects of the AIR 81 series. This saves many of us huge time and effort and such information is not available anywhere else, certainly not on TNA website. That is only half his work. He has through use of the Freedom Of Information act been able to open up many of the heretofore 'Closed' files, some into the 2090s !

    Many thanks Paul,

    Martin Gleeson.

    Simon,

Definitely worth a shot having someone copy the file.. best if it goes in as part of a larger order.. i think many of the researchers are hit with a backlog due to the covid restrictions..

Many times the name of the file is taken from the first document in the file.. sometimes the serial can get corrected later on and we may find more information.

    Martin and Jon,

I third that notion . Pauls work with AIR81 has been fantastic .
