Default S/L R.P. CAWTHORN and G/C Charles Herbert TIGHE - seeking information

These two officers appear to have been posted to Canada, circa 1940 as part of the RAF staff with the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (aka Empire Air Training Scheme). Information is sought regarding their postings, duties and subsequent fates. The OBE entry for Tighe represents the sum total of my knowledge; Cawthorn is even more of a blank (until the Forum experts rush to assist).

TIGHE, Charles Herbert, G/C, DFC (05111, Royal Air Force) - No.1 Air Command Headquarters - Officer, Order of the British Empire - Awarded as per London Gazette dated 1 January 1946 and AFRO 86/46 dated 25 January 1946. Born 13 July 1903 in Wicklow, Ireland. Commissioned 17 January 1923. As Flying Officer, to No.11 Squadron, Andover, 15 December 1925. Posted to No.45 (Bombing) Squadron, Helwan, 10 October 1933. Posted to No.4 Flying Training School, Abu Sueir, 13 November 1934. Promoted Squadron Leader, 1 December 1936. Awarded DFC, 18 December 1936, "for gallant and distinguished services rendered in connection with operations in Palestine, 1936". Promoted Group Captain, 1 June 1942. Ferried Dakota FD899 to Britain, June 1943. Awarded OBE, 1 January 1946. Retired 21 March 1946.

This officer was employed at a Training Command Headquarters as Senior Aeronautical Engineering Officer for almost three years. The calibre of his work at all times has been outstanding. A brilliant staff officer, he has been responsible in many ways for the efficient maintenance organization now existent within the framework of this Command. His cheerfulness and devotion to duty is without peer and his earnest endeavours to successfully complete the most difficult of problems are exceptionally praiseworthy.

    Hugh, et al,
Can't find Sqn Ldr R P Cawthorn(e?) anywhere. Not in England & Wales BMD - but a suggestion the name might be Scottish around his birth time? On the other hand, we may have a typo?
