Jim,
Yes, it seems to be the only alternative with bulk digital copying service.

Hi,
Last week I received my first copies from Bob O’Hara Public Record Searches http://www.searcher-na.co.uk/. It took 19 days from first contact until the copies were ready including time for an obligation-free quote. Quality of the copies were good and they can send with WeTransfer which I prefer. Payment is possible with PayPal. They charge £35 per hour which for my order gave a price of 30 pence per page. I guess it would be possible to reduce the price per page if several similar files would be copied.
Arcre is of course much cheaper with 10 pence per page but this do not seem to be an option for the moment. The National Archives own record copying price is much higher with 1.10 £ per digital image of original up to size A3.

I usually only get large maps or plans copied by the TNA copying service as they are almost impossible to photograph in one shot and still be able to read detail.
I have also been using the UK Hydrographic Archive copying service which for large sheets up to AO size is £25 plus a fixed £15 per order - I save up and buy four at a time. Not much use to many of you unless you are into offshore ranges.
Hi all, I can only add the Lee from ARCRE let me know that he plan to visit TNA more regularly now so the waiting time should become horter.
He recently finished my last order from October last on my request that I need the file for my book actually.

Hi Pavel,
a late thank you for this information. I have been monitoring Lee's website since you wrote this and today he announced that he is back in business: https://www.arcre.com/copyservice

Lee has provided me with the first “tranch” of documents from TNA, so I’m quite pleased.
