No.232 Squadron in the Far East (November 1941 - March 1942

Hi. Can anyone enlighten me further as to what happened to this squadron during this period please? I know that the squadron was in action in the Far East towards the end of that period but can find little information about it, or how and when it got to that region. I have the squadron's ORB but it does not cover this period - I suspect that it was lost when the Unit was effectively destroyed by the Japanese in early March 1942. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

I recommend Hurricanes Over Singapore: RAF, RNZAF and NEI Fighters in Action Against the Japanese Over the Island and the Netherlands East Indies, 1942 by Brian Cull with Paul Sortehaug. Unfortunately even second hand books are quite expensive.

Hi Brian & thank you for replying. I am trying to find out, as accurately as possible, when and where one of No.232 Squadron's pilots got up to what. I prefer to uae prime sources wherever possible, so I would really welcome any pointers that you can give me. I will try to send you more details, by pm, later this evening. Thanks again. Andrew
