    Default Two RIAF DFC awards

Air Ministry Bulletin 18375 has citations for two Royal Indian Air Force pilots which had been gazetted without texts. The microfilm I have is very indistinct as to the location of Squadron Leader Rajaramís work. Would someone with knowledge of RIAF operations be able to advise about the proper spelling ?

PUJJI, Mahindra Singh, A/F/L (Ind 1604) - No.4 Squadron, Royal Indian Air Force - Distinguished Flying Cross - awarded as per London Gazette 17 April 1945. Citation in Air Ministry Bulletin 18375.

This officer has flown on many reconnaissance sorties over Japanese occupied territory, often in adverse monsoon weather. He has obtained much valuable information of enemy troop movements and dispositions, which enabled an air offensive to be maintained against the Japanese troops throughout the monsoon. Flight Lieutenant Pujji has shown himself to be a skilful and determined pilot who has always displayed outstanding leadership and courage,

RAJARAM, Ramaswami, S/L (Ind 1573) - No.1 Squadron, Royal Indian Air Force - Distinguished Flying Cross - awarded as per London Gazette 17 April 1945. Citation in Air Ministry Bulletin 18375.

Squadron Leader Ramaswami Rajaram has completed many operations over the Manipure-Neirth Gran [?]. He has shown himself to be a most skillful tactical reconnaissance pilot and he has flown with great success over jungle-covered mountainous terrain during adverse weather. At all times Squadron Leader Rajara, has set a sterling example of courage, deterioration and devotion to duty.

Thanks for those two citations Hugh.. First part should be Manipur.

Neirth Gran does not ring any bells for me. could it be Nagaland? both areas are next to each other and that is where the Squadron operated

    For the record
