    Default Coastal command lost liberator

I have come across an entry in my late father's log book:

'Night of Feb 26/27 1945 F/O Ponting and Crew missing in Skaggerak. Presumed shot down in flames by enemy vessel.'

The plane was a liberator flying out of either St Eval or Milltown (squadron 224). My father was the co-pilot but did not fly this mission. I would like to find out more about this loss.
As I am new to this type of research could someone help direct me?

    Thanks in advance
