Dakota IV KJ982 Crew Details Required

25/05/1945 KJ982 Alon49159 (MSN 26420) to RAF as Dakota IV KJ982. Wrecked when ran off strip when landing in bad weather and undercarriage torn


My understanding is that the aircraft was due to uplift wounded and return to Mingaladon but was damaged when landing. I would be interested to find the names of the crew.

AB Serials show the aircraft KJ982 was with 215 Sqn. And the accident was at Alon Air strip, while operating out of Meiktila

Sure enough the Summary of Events for 215 https://discovery.nationalarchives.g...mageViewerLink gives the name as F/O Diacoma (page 7)
