I previously posted asking for help finding Anthony Watt's Service Number. I am now in possession of further information. I have copies of his children's birth certificates. In 1944 his occupation is Flight Sergeant RAF and in 1946 his occupation is Warrant Officer 1318065 underneath in brackets it says Inland Revenue Clerk, I'm guessing that that was his occupation after he left the RAF. In 1946 he is living in Church Street , Tempsford, Bedfordshire.
I understand that there was an airbase in Tempsford out of which Squadrons 131 and 161 operated a ' taxi service' for dropping off and picking up secret agents.
Is there any way that I can find out whether in fact Anthony Watts was based there ?

Where does it say "1946 his occupation is Warrant Officer 1318065 underneath in brackets it says Inland Revenue Clerk"

IF he is just Anthony Watts (no additional forename(s)), and IF his BMD is in England & Wales, then he might be either of:-

Births Jun 1906 Watts, Anthony, Newcastle T. 10b 180
or
Births Jun 1920 Watts, Anthony, (MMS) Davies, Prescot 8b 1709

Hi Pete,
I would love to apply for his service record but I don't have a death certificate or even a date of death. He disappeared from all records that I have combed so I can only conclude he altered his name somehow after leaving his wife in the 50's.
