    Default Hurricane AM78 Request

Hi all. Just wondering if some kind soul out there might be able to send me copies of the AM Form 78s for a couple of dozen Hurricanes please? TIA, Andrew.

Just 'bumping this up' and hoping that mentioning the specific aircraft I'm looking for might help. They are:

    LF161, LF332, LF374, LF382, LF391, LF395, LF401, LF404, LF419, LF421, LF537, LF560, LF569, LF706, PG382, PG478, PG492, PZ344, PZ744 and PZ804

    Cheers all

    Andrew

    Hello Andrew,
I think that you may want to check PG382 again, as it would have been in the serial number range for a Wellington but appears in a serial number gap that was not used.
Also you may wish to include LF566,LF687 and PZ740 to your search as these three also are connected to 1690 Flt.

    PS -
If you type in 1690 Flt in the Google Box at the top of the forum page you will get a list of forum posts on both 1690 Hurricanes and pilots earlier posted on the forum by members.
    All the best

Many thanks Alex, I will follow your useful advice.

My source for the serial PG382 is Les Munro's logbook, where it appears twice. I am wondering if it should have been PG482, but he noted it incorrectly the first time and then, when he flew the aircraft with the same code letter (P) again, copied the (incorrect) serial from the first entry.

Ironically, it appears that the mystery aircraft replaced PZ740 (whose AM78 I already have) which was also coded 'P' but which he sometimes listed as PZ704.

    All of us are fallible!

    Many thanks again

    Andrew

    Good morning Andrew,
    AB PA100 - PZ999 has only 83 OTU/11 PAFU for PG482.
So could it have been PG492 ?

You could well be right Alex, but how likely is it that he got two digits wrong? I guess we'll probably never know unless more 1690 B(D)TF logbooks surface......
