Centralised Servicing

Í am trying to gather information relating to when Centralised Servicing was in place during the post war era. (ideally 1945 to 1982 for my 35 squadron project)

Can anyone suggest any resources that are available that will help me create a definitive list, particularly in relation to 1945 - 1960

Within the series of RAF Narratives, there was at least one volume on "Maintenance". This covered things quite well up till (straining to remember exactly when) perhaps 1943 or 44, but so far as I know, any planned further volumes were never finished (certainly never published). Still, a good starting point.

MLRS Books used to do hard copy but now all are paid download but the catalogue contains some gems not available elsewhere

Thanks, as always, for the pointers .... I will have a read through the appropriate documents(s) etc ..... now, if I could find similar for the post war years, my quest will be complete

PeteT (et al),
Malcolm’s excellent RAFWEB lists the two following Units at Wittering which may have been heavily involved in the introduction of centralised servicing:-

Air Ministry Servicing Development Unit (15 Apr - 1 Jun 1950)
Central Servicing Development Unit (1 Jun 1950 - 2 Feb 1953).

From my failing memory I seem to remember that Central Servicing at Wittering was introduced at the time when the Lincolns departed, and the Canberras arrived (mid-1950’s?) – but that memory is very vague.

Thanks, as always for the feedback.

I am currently focussing on the earlier years and dates that I have "pencilled in" for when Centralised Servicing was in place are May 1947 to December 1949, October 1956 to December 1958 and From March 1964 to (no end date at the moment)

I have sent an e-mail to RAF Museum this morning to see if they have any of the AMO relating to this subject (and/or any other documents)
