LEE, Donald Henry, W/C, DFC (33140, Royal Air Force) - No.620 Squadron - Public Record Office Air 2/9642 has recommendation for a Dutch award. This was not granted, but the text is transcribed for the historical record.

This officer has participated in numerous sorties dropping paratroops and supplies in the Low Countries. He flew on four missions during the Arnhem operations. During the last of these sorties Wing Commander Lee’s aircraft was set on fire by enemy action but he succeeded in effecting a masterly landing with the undercarriage retracted. This officer has displayed outstanding leadership, skill and courage.
