Hello everyone

On September 14th 1944 W/O H. F. 'Jock' Ross baled out of a Tempest on his way back from an Armed Recce to The Hague.

The ORB Form 541 records him in EJ695, but this was seemingly lost on February 14th 1945:

The database on here has EJ670 lost on that date (80 Squadron's only on that date), but no pilot details:

Ross's log book can be seen in this gallery of images:

Images 12 and 13 show the entry for that date, and shows the code letter Y and a (later?) appendment of EJ695.

EJ670 is also listed as the serial in 'The Typhoon and Tempest Story' which is my 'go-to' source for Typhoon and Tempest losses, so can I assume EJ670 is indeed the correct serial, and maybe he appended his log book afterwards referring to the (incorrect) ORB entry?

The log book entry is useful as it gives the code letter Y for the Tempest in question, and also the code letter G for the Walrus, which was HD830 of 278 Sqn according to Norman Franks' 'Another Kind of Courage' (which also gives EJ695 for the Tempest serial).
