Spitfire JL178 crash - 451 Sqn

Hello,

This Spitfire JL178/BQ-M crashed on 10 or 12 March 1944 but no details are given about the circumstances. Does anyone know, including who was in command?

Before anyone goes off wasting time investigating avenues that you have already pursued, can you please clarify where "no details are given about the circumstances"?

JL178 IX CBAF M63 39MU 5-4-43 47MU 12-4-43 R687 29-4-43 Casablanca 17-5-43 Middle East 1-7-43 NWAfrica 1-11-43 Middle East FACE 12-3-44
Also, nothing is mentioned in the ORB

You do know that 451 was RAAF ?

Yes I know but that doesn't help in finding what happened to JL178.

I had a look at our Archives the ORB’s for March 1944 don’t appear to be there both February and April are but not March, unless it’s missed filed?
