    Hugh,
You seem to have cut and pasted the recommendation of Blundell from another of the day's posts.

    BRAIN FART ALERT ! ! !

You are correct. The Blundell entry should stand as it is. The Brown entry in the Spink catalogue (apparently lacking even a recommendation) read as follows:

BROWN, Charles Henry, Flight Lieutenant (157997) – No. 635 Squadron – Distinguished Flying Cross – awarded as per London Gazette dated 22 April 1945. From Spink catalogue of 24 July 1990.

A “Pathfinder” D.F.C. Group of Six to Flight Lieutenant C.H. Brown, Air Gunner, Royal Air Force, Distinguished Flying Cross, G.VI.R., reverse officially dated “1945”; 1939-45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star, with bar “France and Germany”; Defence and War Medals; Cadet Forces Medal, E.II.R., (Flt. Lt. RAFVR (T).), very fine and better, together with recipient’s original Observer’s and Air Gunner’s Flying Book, 1942-45; D.F.C. named enclosure document, and a quantity of copied No. 432 and 635 Squadron Operations records.

Flight Lieutenant Charles Henry Brown, D.F.C., joined the Royal Air Force, 1940; commissioned as Pilot Officer, 1943; served with 424 (R.C.A.F.) Squadron (Wellingtons), 432 (R.C.A.F.) Squadron (Wellingtons and Lancasters), and 635 Squadron, 8th Pathfinder Group; took part in a number of operations, 1943-45, including: L’Orient, Essen, Mannheim, Krefeld, Hamburg, Brest, Monchengladbach, Hanover Emden, Kiel, Stuttgart and Magdeburg, 1943-45; Flight Lieutenant 1947; released from service, 1948.
