Solution Of Some Met Sqn/Flts Anomalies
Hello All,
I’m tidying up some of my Met Recce Sqns/Flts data, and I’ve come across several anomalies that I can’t de-anomalise!
1. A Sgt Prag (that’s the spelling I have) was the Nav and/or MAO on the first PAMPA mission on 2 Jul 42 in Mosquito Mk IV DK289. I can’t get him to come up in any of the ‘usual places’! Which Sqn did DK289 belong to?
2. A Tony Porazka(?) was the MAO(?) on Halifax Mk V, LL221, of 518 Sqn on 15-Apr-44. Sounds originally Polish, but I can’t find him in the lists. Anybody know?
2. 792794 Flt Sgt Ozaist, Eugen was an MAO on 518 Sqn. Can somebody go firm on the correct spelling of his forename?
3. Can somebody point me in the right direction of the 202 (Met) Sqn Historian? I haven't touched this one before.
4. Nos 1, 2, 3, and 4 Met Flts were formed in India. Shortly after formation their numbers were changed by adding 1300. They were at Alipore, Delhi, Yelahanka, and Ratmalana. There are differing accounts of which was where/when. Can somebody (Jagan?) tell me where their histories can be found?
There may be a few more of these over the next few weeks as I attempt resolution of a few more anomalies!
Thank you, in advance, for your help(s).
