Interesting. The 'Takedown Panel' sounds a bit Orwellian...

From the NA website at: https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/...losure-policy/

Material will be taken down temporarily on receipt of a request from a member of the public or a government department. The case will then be considered by the Takedown Panel composed of members of staff with expertise in Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection, along with other specialists from across The National Archives.

Perhaps someone's asked them to take them down, for reasons unknown?

I think some of the cards showed peoples dates of birth, thats probably the reason.

Good job they were downloaded before this by at least 3 people on here so we can take down the takedown committee

Dawn raids on RAFCommands forum members homes.
    Computers confiscated.

maybe like Fahrenehit 451, we should start memorizing a PDF each. :-)

Thankfully one of our members (Will stay anon ) did send me the full set of files - I have an online solution ready that is not overly expensive if its used by a small set of users.. .. it will have to be a limited service open only to senior members of the forum . I cannot have everyone clicking it and downloading the files which will be very expensive for bandwidth.

As a test run, I am thinking I should provide access to this closed archive - only to those members who are active on the forum (eg.. Been a member for at least three years, active in the last 365 days - and have a post count more than 30 posts) and see how it is going.. (About 200 members qualify)

If and when the NA Site brings back the AIR78 back online, i can disable the site at my end.

(Or if the black helicopters raid my house in the US... then....)

    Files can be accessed at

    http://www.rafcommands.com/database/air78.php

Only for members meeting certain criteria.

    Hi Jagan
Thanks for doing this. I have no immediate need for the AIR78 files but have used them several times in the past. Just to confirm that your system works beautifully!
