    I wanted to ask this myself, in terms of the Genealogist's ORB's database.

    I have ancestry account but the transcriptions are very poor and seemingly only up to 1940 still. But there are woeful errors in date transcriptions.

    The Genealogist site ORBs are generally easy to search with some minor transcription errors. Obvious errors are the rank F/O is shown as Flight Officer, and an airman's 'home' air force is derived by the nationality of the squadron ie everyone shown on 423 Squadron is described as RCAF whether they be RAF or RAAF. The complete records are easy to access and filed under the relevant AIR number. I have identified quite a few of mine by searching on surname/dates/squadrons and aircraft type. You can also with some degree of success search for aircraft AM serial numbers.

    Can't you get them free from National Archives ?

    Yes, but I guess the ORBs from these secondary sources are transcripted, with the caveats below.

    I transcripted all of dadís ORBs myself with all errors in the original source material left as is, but footnoted with corrections.
