Hi Nick, have you tried the TNA website, where the squadron ORBs are still downloadable free of charge after registration?

Hi,
just wondering whether anyone has the 214 squadron orb for the summer of 1943 . Looking for any ops a flight engineer called sgt d Oxley undertook with the squadron in June - July 1943 before being posted to 190 squadron.
many thanks ,
nick

I’ve got them. I’ll try to take a look later.

Thanks Ian. He was screened out in late august 1944 so assume he completed a tour . Could not get the required no. Of ops from his 190 and 199 squadron postings from looking at the Orbs !
Hi Nick
I've looked at my own 214 Sqn aircrew listing from July 1943 onwards, and the ORB Summaries for June, July, August and September 1943 and I can't find any Sgt D Oxley or his posting in August to 190 Sqn. Very odd. Are you sure he was with 214? Any idea who his pilot was?
Kind regards
Ian
HI Ian,
many thanks for the reply, no idea about a pilot name . The information I have is from his service record. Transferred from 1656 HCU to 214 squadron and then onto 190 squadron in august 1943. His pilot in 190 squadron was Chappell and they stayed together until they were screened out.

Have just got home . His service record states he was posted to both 214 squadron and 1657 CU on the same day . Given his absence on the 214 sqn orb I assume he was actually posted to 1657 CU . I know conversion unit orbs are a bit sporadic but is there anyone on the forum who has access to 1657CU to see if Oxley undertook any ops before being posted to 199 squadron at the end of august ‘43. Many thanks , Nick
