    Default Whirlwind P7121

    Hi,

SF-C "Bellows Argentina No.7" of the 137 Sqn hit ground at Manston on 16/4/1943.
Does anyone provide me service data when she was with the 263 & 137 Sqn ?
Were there any extra records for this machine except a victory on 19/8/42 with Sgt Roberts in controls ?

    Any helps appreciated,
    Michal

I have P7121 delivered straight from MU to 137Sq in Feb 42, Are you sure it went to 263Sq ?

    Default P7121

Like Jerry I see nothing to suggest that P7121 ever served with 263 Sqn. From what I have, a summary history of the aircraft would be:

08/12/41: To 39MU, 06/02/42: To 137 Sqn. 27/02/42: Damaged Category AC, repaired on site and returned to squadron 13/04/42. 16/04/43: Crashed during dive-bombing practice, Manston. FO John Hadow killed.

Also, for the combat against the Dornier Do 217E-4 of 5/KG40 off Happisburgh on 19/08/42 I have Des Roberts flying P7046 and 'Mike' Bryan flying P7121. 7121 appears to have been Bryan's 'regular' aircraft for at least some of its time with the squadron - he also suffered an in-flight engine failure in it on 24/05/42.

    Hope this helps

    Niall
