    Default Unaccounted airman - 10-6-1941

What was the place of death registration for AC2 William N. MACKINTOSH - 1083052.

    Proposed aircraft losses this day:

Leopoard Moth - AV988 - 8 AACU - crashed on overshoot Weston Zoyland.
Audax I - K5248 - 1 FTS - crashed in forced landing Isham, near Kettering, Northampshire.

Regards and thanks for your help.
    Henk.

    Henk,

CWGC gives William Noel MACKINTOSH's age as 34 and his birth is registered in Merthyr Tydfyl in South Wales in Q1. 1907. As Dick has said, MACKINTOSH doesn't show up on the England & Wales register but the death of a William MACINTOSH (no K) aged 34 is registered in Bridgend, South Wales. Possibly a typo?

    Regards,

    David

    Henk,

No - it could be me that's wrong. Your original post, the CWGC and the birth register all have the name as William N(oel) Mackintosh - with a K. It's only the death register that has Macintosh - without a K - so it is possible that Macintosh without a K is not your man or that it was a typo in the death register. Unfortunately, the death register only gives William with no second initial or name.

Hope that makes some sort of sense!

    Regards,

    David
