    Hi, anyone know the service numbers of these two victoria cross winners, thanks for any help. eugene esmonde. robert hampton gray.

    As Royal Navy officers they didn't have service numbers. Only non-coms had them

    Lieutenant Robert Hampton Gray V.C. D.S.C; R.C.N.V.R.

    Enlisted - V13438

    Officer - 0-29020

    Promoted to Sub-Lieutenant (Temporary) on the 31st of December 1940

    Promoted to Lieutenant exactly two years later on the 31st of December 1942

    M.i.D. on the 3rd of February 1945

    D.S.C. awarded on the 15th of September 1945

    V.C. awarded posthumously on the 24th of November 1945

    I forgot to mention that he was 'awarded' the Victoria Cross, he did not win it.
