Hi John,
The typos continue.
It was AGGTS. Air Gunners Ground Training School.
Some years ago I had a subject at No. 2 AGGTS, Trenton and asked here.

I am researching Sgt Angus John MacDonell, R/283114, RCAF, whose military records are rather sparce as his name was misspelled MacDonnell on his RCAF digitised record. One document from No.9 Bombing and Gunnery School shows him in April 1944 posted to No.4 AGTS Valley Field. I cannot locate this outfit or understand its purpose - probably for completion of gunnery training, as Angus was posted to Bomber Command in June 1944.
Your help would be appreciated.
John

Dave, I couldn't find any RCAF facility of that name at Valleyfield, but I did stumble across another link at
http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...-training-unit
which suggests it might be the No.4 Aircrew Graduate Training School (located at a redundant army facility), which tought aircrew evasion and survical techniques in a 4 week course.
This fits Angus MacDonell's training scheudule quite well.

John
Hello,
The Operational Record Book/Daily Diary for No 4 AGTS is available at https://heritage.canadiana.ca/view/o...el_c12367/1790 .
The AGTS’ were Aircrew Graduate Training Schools. See page 1796 para 1 for the purpose of AGTS’.
