    Alex,
The only loss I can find that might fit (assuming of course that he did not die of wounds from an earlier incident) is that of Ju 88A-5 0358/4U+FK of 2(F)./123 which went missing over the UK on that day.
    Can anyone confirm?
    Andy

COOK, Harry - Petty Offr Stoker - D/K.58488 - HMS Illustrious - AMD 104 states lost at sea, so presumably with the others on HMS Illustrious.

BENNETT, George Arthur- Leading Airman - C/JX.135292 - HMS Gallant - ADM 104 once again states lost at sea. On January 10th 1941 HMS Gallant struck a mine during Operation Excess, killing 65 of her crew.

In both cases cause of death is '2' which is classed as:

Killed, died of injuries or exposure, died of disease following injuries or exposure, drowned, missing and subsequently presumed killed or drowned, following the accidental loss of a ship (wreck, collision, internal explosion etc.) or where the actual cause of a vessel's loss is not known. Accidental deaths (killed, drowned etc.). Deaths due to injuries or disease following injuries.

Hi Simon, Thank you for the info regarding Harry COOK and George A, BENNETT.
I entered them under the CWGC section as had no idea as to why Henk had not included them in his list along with the other RN losses following the days after the ships losses.
    Thanks
    Alex
