    That I think, is the final conclusion to the RAF in January 1941

    Cole 1259937 is reported in the newspaper as Frank William Coles:

    The article also states that he was a member of the St John Ambulance, had joined the R.A.F. some five months previously, and had qualified as an armourer.

    LOCAL OBITUARIES THE LATE MR F. W COLES
    A well known and highly popular resident of the town has passed away in the person of A/c Frank Walter Coles (sic)
    82h, Victoria Road, who died on Wednesday week, following a series of operations.
    He leaves a widow and two children. Mr. Coles who was 34 years of age. had resided in Diss for about nine years
    and he was employed in the local office of the East Anglian Electric Supply Co.. Ltd., and previously he was with the same
    company at Stowmarket. Since coming to Diss, he has taken an active part in many local organisations'. He was a member of the
    St. John Ambulance, and member of the A.R.P. First Aid Party. In addition he was a driver for the Diss Motor Ambulance.
    He was also the founder secretary of the Diss Small-bore Rifle Club and a keen member of the Diss Golf Club. Limited Section.
    He joined the Royal Air Force five months ago, and had qualified as an armourer. The funeral with full military honours,
    took place on Monday amidst many signs of esteem and sympathy. The first part of the service was held in the Parish Church,
    the coffin, which was covered with the Union Jack, on top of which were his cap and belt, was borne by six members of the
    Royal Air Force, meanwhile a guard of honour from the Royal Air Force stood to attention on the roadway.
    The service was conducted by the Rector (Rev. J. A,. Appleton) who also recited the committal sentences at the Cemetery,
    where the interment took place. At the graveside three volleys were fired by the guard. The family mourners were: The widow, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Coles,
    (mother and father), Mr Leonard Coles, Gnr. Lionel Coles and Mr. R. Coles (brothers), Mrs. F. Bush and Miss Joyce Coles (sisters),
    Mr. L. May (brother-in-law) and Mr. F. Coles, Stowmarket (uncle). Others present included Superintendent Chappell Cpl. B. W. F. Pettitt. Mr. E. G Hales
    and Mr. W. H. Barham (representing St John Ambulance Brigade, Diss Division) Mr. W. F. Drury, Mr. G. Flatman, Mr R A Walker, Mr J H Barber and
    Mr A E Kerry : representing the East Anglian Electric Supply Co, Ltd.,) Miss K. Jeffery, (representing Diss A.R.P. Ambulance Depot) Mrs. E. Morrett
    (representing Mr. E. Morrett and the Diss Golf Club, Limited Section), Mr. A. J. Pipe and Mr. J. G. Brown 'representing DiSs Small-bore Rifle Club). Mr. F. W. Gotobed, Miss D. Mattholie,
    Mr. Howard, Mrs. Chuck, Mr. R. C. Strudwick. Mrs Allen. Mrs. A. Noble. Miss V. Man thorpe, Mrs. L. Manthorpe, Mr. C. Jackson Mr. C. Rackham, Able Seaman T. Stannard
    Mr. W. H. Harrison, Mr. G. H. Rackham. Floral tributes were received from; His loving wife Elsie; Ann and Bette: Beryl and Freddy: Bertha. Frank and Jack; Maisii and Vera; Elsie and Billy;

    A.R.P First Aid Parties and ambulance drivers; the staff the Diss he staff the Diss Branch of the East Anglian Electric Supply Co., Diss .Division, St. John Ambulance Brigade; Diss Golf Club.
