Default Log books of deceased airmen - post war period

    Gents
As you know, log books belonging to airmen killed during the war were destroyed after the war. But what had happened to the log books of airmen deceased after the war? Some were passed to the next of kin, but some were not. Should they be attached to the loss file, personal file or not collected deposit?
    TIA
    Franek

"log books belonging to airmen killed during the war were destroyed after the war"

I hope you'll excuse me, Franek, but that's really not right.
Details of actual practice on Flying Log Books of deceased or surviving aircrew, return vs retention & much later destruction, all recounted at some length here:

As for post-war practice, unless some member can answer with direct knowledge, suggest ask either
RAF Museum Research (formerly DORIS), email askcollections@rafmuseum.org
    or
RAF Air Historical Branch email: ahb.raf@btconnect.com

Sure I meant not claimed log books.
I am after log books of some airmen, who as far as I know had no next of kin. I will try to contact them.
    Thanks!
