All provided service numbers for McIntosh are correct. Their chronological order is NZ4213676 (as an Army officer attached to RNZAF for flying training course), then NZ1911 (as an RNZAF officer, from 23/12/43 when appointed to temp comm in rank of Pilot Officer), then to 133056. The latter number was necessary because of the decision made in 1949 to abandon all existing service numbers in use in RNZAF (as well as Royal NZ Navy and NZ Army), and introduction of an integrated system which comprised a series of blocks of numbers for each service, including separate blocks for Reservists and Regulars.
