    Default 240 Squadron casualties

Hello gents, can somebody tell me the cause of death of Sgt Edward Benn (1080445) and Eric G Spearing (1585079), both of 240 Squadron and both listed as being killed 27th June 1945. I presume it was a Catalina accident, but would appreciate any details.

    Cheers, Tom

    Hi Tom,

Overshot landing downwind at 10:43 hrs. Overturned, caught fire and sank in 15 to 30 feet of water at Horsburgh Reef, Cocos Island.
