    Default Beaufighter JM172

Is it possible that F/Sgt (Nav) Royston H. SHARP - 1232377 of 143 Sqn, date of death 23-2-1944, was killed on Beaufighter JM172 (ditched off North Coates).
    Regards,
    Henk.

    Hi Henk
North Coates is within the registration area of Louth, Lincolnshire and that is where the death of Royston H Sharp is recorded. The area would cover the coastal areas as well, so it could be that his body was recovered and brought ashore if he ditched in the Beaufighter. He is buried at Shipley just N of Bradford where his parents came from
    Regards
    Dick

    Hi Henk,

    I have

    F/Sgt F R Bennett
    F/Sgt R H Sharp

    As crew of JM172

Hit a hut on take off and was ditched off North Coates, Lincolnshire. F/Sgt Bennett rests in Scholemoor Cemetery, Bradford and F/Sgt Sharp in Nab Wood Cemetery, Shipley, Yorkshire.

    Regards
    Ross
