    Ross,
    CWGC has GRUDGE as GUDGE.
    I've also as a casualty (unconfirmed source): F/Sgt William R. HARRIS - 1661128 - Runnymede Panel 271.
    Please advise.
    Regards,
    Henk.

    Hi Sid,

Almost everything on the Internet has come from local national archives.

The "war diary" or Operational Record Book of the squadron resides in The National Archives at Kew, London.

If you pay a personal visit you can inspect the ORB at your leisure and see detasils of all operational flights undertaken by the squadron.

Alternatively you can order copies on either paper/microfilm or CD but at an eyewatering cost.

    Henk,

Harris is a possble at the moment as I have yet to find confirmation.

    Regards
    Ross

    Hi Henk,

    "F/Sgt William R. HARRIS - 1661128 - Runnymede Panel 271."

I have him with 86 Sqn in my "GRO" micro-film.

    Default Liberator KH338 25 April 1945

Information received by Doug Sim from AR9 in 1979 included F/S Harris amongst the crew of this aircraft.

Thanks all for your reply's to my original post.I have noticed while scrolling though the forum that several Coastal Command aircraft were lost in the Skaggerak area. What were the German bases in this area and are there any records in German files about their activities.

    Regards,

    Sid
