    Default 54 OTU April 1941 - CO

    Hi all,

could anybody provide me name of 54 OTU CO in April 1941?

According to my information it may be a W/C from British Columbia in Canada.

    Default Charterhall

I do not know about April 1941 but when 54 OTU moved permanently to Charterhall from Church Fenton on 29 April 1942, the CO was Canadian Wing Cdr W K Beisiegel (source: J B Thompson/The Charterhall Story (Air Research Publications, Walton-on-Thames, 2004).

    Pavel,

My father's log book shows W/C Richard Llewelyn Roger ATCHERLEY as CO in April 1941. There's some biographic detail at

    http://www.rafweb.org/Biographies/AtcherleyR.htm

    Regards,

    David

Keith and David - many thanks for your help.
W/C Atherley looks like the right man though he was not of Canadian origin as it is stated in my account.
