Rodeo 51 was on 24th May 1942 and I have P/O Georg Frederick MORGAN could have been on W3332 on this date. W3332 was named HENDON GRIFFIN -So does anyone know what Gifts of War says about this aircraft?

According to Gifts of War F/Lt Svatopluk BACHUREK was on W3332

So Morgan could have been on one of other 222 Sqn losses that day

BL620 - I had F/Lt S BACHUREK orginally on this one, so maybe Morgan was on it instead
    AB819 - I have F/Sgt AFP JAMES PoW

    Talking of W3332................
Who piloted W3332 on 25-4-1942 ? 124 Squadron, damaged by FW 190 on sweep and abandoned 5 miles (8 km) NW of Berck-sur-Mer, France.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Default For Paul and Pavel

    Paul,
You mentioned under #2 this thread that Rodeo 51 was on 24th May (!) and P/O George F. MORGAN could have been on W3332 "this date". However Bachurek baled W3332 over France 25th April !
Bachurek is in the list "Air Crashes WWII The Netherlands" for reason his body was washed ashore and buried in The Netherlands.
Bachurek is mentioned by Frantisek Loucky in his "Mnozi nedoleteli" unfortunately without info on his aircraft.

    What's in Pavel's file ?
    Regards,
    Henk.

I think I may have sorted this out..

The ORB of the No 124.Sqn states that Spitfire W3332 did not return on the 25.4.42. But the same ORB is then shown that W3332 was flown some days later: 28 and 29.4.42 by Sgt Fox.

The movement card let shows that Spitfire BL620 was lost on this day, but this aircraft is not mentioned in the ORB

So looking at this againon 25th April 1942 - Circus 137 - there were 2 * 124 Sqn Losses (not three) - which explains why BL620 was an unknown pilot

    BL620 - Bachurek Killed
    AB819 - AFP James PoW

If you assume that W3332 was not lost with 137 Sqn but transferred to 222 Sqn then 25 May 1942 Rodeo 51 222 Sqn Losses becomes:

    AD233 - Jankiewitcz Killed
    W3332 - Morgan POW
