    Default Sgt. A R. Jones RAFVR. 124 Squadron

    A contact is looking for details relating to the loss of the following airman. I've looked in FCL's but with no luck. As always any help is much appreciated.

    Default Sgt.A.R.Jones RAFVR. 124 Squadron

    Hi Peter,

    124 Sqn Spitfire Ia R7074, spun into sea during practice dogfight off Dunnet Head, Caithness 27/7/1941.

    As R7074 was a presentation aircraft (Sunderland III), maybe someone with access to a copy of, 'Gifts of War', can add more.

    Jones' appears to be the only 124 Sqn fatality on this date.
