    Default Svcnr 120600

F/O W.A. CALDER, Liberator FK239 of 160 Sqn, killed 24-8-1943 and commemorated Column 423 of the Singapore Memorial, and
P/O (Observer) E.O. SHARDLOW, who died/was killed 8-11-1942 and lies buried Arnold Cemetery, Nottinghamshire (unaccounted for sofar),
    share the same servicenumber.
    Could this be possible ?
    Regards,
    Henk.

Seems to be a typo for Calder on the CWGC as the LG gives his number as 120800

Shardlow is in the London Gazette thusly:

Gazette Issue 35565 published on the 19 May 1942. Page 6 of 48
    4th Mar. 1942.
    1206743 Eric Owen SHARDLOW (120600).

I would have found him had I spelled his name correctly!

Gazette Issue 35671 published on the 14 August 1942. Page 3 of 6
    gth May 1942.
    1210240 Walter Allen CALDER (120800).

    Henk, Hi,
Looks like typo. LG gives Shardlow Commissioned 4 Mar 42 from 1206743 to (120600). Calder Commissioned 9 May 42 from 1210240 to (120800).

    Hi Henk
Shardlow doesn't show up on the England and Wales register in the 4th Qtr of 1942 or the 1st Qtr of 1943. May have died in Scotland or N Ireland

    Dick
