    Default P/O Job - 221 Squadron

    Hi All,

    I was hoping someone may be help me with the events surrounding the death of P/O Job. He flew with 221 Coastal Command and was lost over the Dutch Coast on his first patrol during 1941 testing some new equipment. For some reason I cannot find him listed on the CWGC website.

    Mant thanks in advance,

    Russ

    Hello Russ,

    Did he die in 1942? I have a F/O Martin S. Job, 60554 from CC Development Unit in my "GRO Micro-film". Then you can go to CWGC for more details.

    Unfortunately, I do not have any aircraft details.

    Thanks Finn,

    I did notice F/O Martin Shipley Job on the CWGC but there was no unit. He was definately with 221 Squadron in August 1941 so I assumed he died in 1941 but it could have been 1942.

    Hello again Russ,

    I can't confirm, but try to go after Wellington Z8702 from CCDU. Pilot W/O Eric Edward Ilett, 742870, and crew lost in the North Sea on a patrol off the Dutch Coast.

    Regards

    Hello Henk and Russ,

    By help from the "GRO Micro-film", I can see all the mentioned airmen, they did belong to the Coastal Command Development Unit, Ballykelly in N Ireland.

    "27-2-1942.
    For this date I've on file missing and commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial:
    Sgt Tom CRUMP - 1304353 - Panel 81;
    Sgt Rowland O. GEORGE - 747973 - Panel 83;
    W/O Eric E. ILETT - 742870 - Panel 72;
    F/O Martin S. JOB - 60554 - Panel 67,
    P/O Richard G. WALDER - 45752 - RP72."

    Another airman belonging to same unit is found in same Micro-film.

    F/S Raeside Harley Brown, 1354775, date of death 28/2 1942, is buried Great Bircham (St. Mary) Churchyard.

    Some links to his details:

    Suppose we now have the complete crew.

    Best regards
