The man you are after is probably P/O Neville Halsey Andrew, RNZAF, 78sqdn, kia, 01/10/40
Dear all
I came across this obituary online of a Dutch resistance worker. There is a mention of a crew member Neville Andrews who apparently was lost when the Whitley he was in crashed. I cannot find any mention of him in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission records.
Can anyone help me pin down the date so I can identify the Whitley involved please?
Thanks

Forgot to add Whitley P4964
Hi
Andrew's details are on CWGC http://www.cwgc.org/search/SearchResults.aspx?surname=ANDREW&initials=N+H&war =0&yearfrom=1940&yearto=1940&force=Air&nationality =6&send.x=28&send.y=10 and the loss is confirmed in Chorley BCL Vol 1
You might have missed earlier with the "s" on the end of the name.
CWGC has him as RAF,which suggests that he enlisteddirect into the UK Service and, as it is RAF, probably pre-war. There are brief details of him on the Aukland Museum Memorial site under Cenotaph confirm him as a New Zealander

Dick
