    Default Unit Abbreviation TCANS

A pilot has told me that, following a tour of duty on the Continent and subsequent end of hostilities in that theatre, he was returned to the UK where he was given the following postings:

    TCANS, Morcambe, 11-17 Aug. 1945
12 Ferry Unit, Melton Mobray, 17-30 Aug. 1945
    TCANS, Morcambe, 1 Sep.-8 Oct. 1945

...after which he was sent to 229 Group, Delhi, ferrying Spitfires.

Could anyone suggest what TCANS means? I assume it's Transport Command something. I saw these entries in his logbook at the same time as he was reading them out to me, so it's not TCAHC (Transport Command Aircrew Holding Centre), which is the only other similar abbrevation I can find. Lakes' 'Flying Units of the RAF' is not offering any assistance. Could it have been 'Navigation School'?

    Thanks
