    Default U-boat attack 4-9-41

On 4 September 1941 Catalina Z2143 (F/L. Louw and crew) of 240 Squadron attacked a U-boat whilst on convoy escort duty, at the time 240 Squadron were operating out of Lough Erne, Northern Ireland.

I'm looking to identify the U-boat.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards
    Peter

None of the 45 U-boats on patrol on that date seem to have reported being attacked but it would be worth double checking:

I'd looked on uboat.net and got the same result as you did. Can find no other info.

    Hi Peter,

I have the identity of U-boat in my book "RCAF bylo jejich osudem" where is the story of F/L Louw's navigator. Unfortunately the book is in Czech only.

Please contact me off board for more details.

    Peter,

The boat in question was U 95, which escaped the attack unscathed.
