Believe me PATS, it drives me to the wall................
NS855 * NS986 * MM421 * Connell/Carr * Cleveland/Day * Harper/Rees.
Connell/Car - 8/9-5-44 on NS 986 ?
Cleveland/Day 16-5-44 on NS855 ?
Harper/Rees 14-5-44 on MM421 ?
Regards,
Henk.
Hello,
Could the answer be with the Swed's ?
The Report case number 108 that is noted in "Making for Sweden" does say according to the book that "TH-P" was the aircraft codes and that the serial number was MM421.
So could anyone get hold of the case file ? details even of the tail section breaking away after crash and problems in escapeing from cockpit.
Perhaps contact with the War Archive in Stockholm or the authors Wegmann and Widfeldt would shed some light on the matter.
The details from Pat re the KU report.
KU 1778 for B17 297259 lost 8th May 44. MACR 4556.
Below wich on the page is -

11.00 hrs Gielde railroad KUA 559

Alex,
Which pages ( what is the source ? )
>From the pages that I have there are two Mosquito's recorded on the 7 May
>and one on the 9 May 13Km NE of Hoorn KE8554.
Where is KE8554 standing for ?
Henk,
For Connell / Carr we are now 100% sure about their crash location 13 Km NE of Hoorn
- 9 May 1944 - about the plane number we have to "fish" deeper ;) I guess.

In "Flyghistorisk Revy" - Aviation Historical Review - Special Issue November 1876 - subject "Sweden - Haven of Refuge" of the Swedish Aviation Historical Society is an annex "English aircraft which force landed in Sweden during WW II". For 1944.05.16 is listed: Place: Ystad - Mosquito FB.VI - MM421 - 418 Sqn - crashed/not recovered - crashed in the sea with heavy damages; one man killed.
Regards,
Henk.
Typo.... Special Issue November "1976" !
Hello Henk,
Sorry for being vague.
KU Report Lists from Microfiche 5975 May 1944. KE8554 is I think the report number or a Map Reference ? I have never gone into them further.
Thats good to see more references to MM421 and both from the Swedish side.

So far as I recall, KE and KU are reports which are identical in type, however KE refers to British aircraft (Kampfflugzeug England) and KU refers to American aircraft (Kampfflugzeug US).
Alex,
Do you have a digital copy of that page - KE8554 ?
From the pages that I have there are two Mosquito's recorded on the 7 May and one on the 9 May 13Km NE of Hoorn KE8554
