Default Ship transport of RCAF officer in 50s

    Hi all,

I have one a little bit off-topic question but maybe one of our Canadian friends may help me:

An officer posted to overseas - No. 2 (Fighter) Wing RCAF and later No. 3 (Fighter) Wing RCAF - embarked a ship on 27.12.1952 somewhere in Canada and disembarked on 7.1.1953 somewhere in France.

Would be possible to find out:

    1) departure port in Canada
    2) ship name
    3) arrival port in France

Or I am trying to find out something what never can be found?

    TIA

    Pavel,

Could you post or PM me a name? 2 Wing was forming at that time at Gros Tonquin (416, 421, 430 Squadrons). I don't believe Canadian Archives records of persons sailing out of Canada are available beyond 1935 due to privacy laws, etc.

Here is a bit of useless trivia, but who knows? The Cunard liner "Samaria" departed Halifax, Nova Scotia on 27.12.1952, but it's destination was Southampton, England.
