Default Squadron 420 - RCAF - Joe Pass - connection

    Hello,

Do have a photo - before July 1942 - with

Air Gunner - Joe Pass, Pilot - Charles Wilde - RCAF - and Observer - Alan Bond - RAFVR

    R.85433 - Charles Garnet Wilde and 1198862 - Alan Denis Bond were KIA - 3 Jul 1942
    with Hampden I - P5332 - PT-T - Squadron 420 - RCAF

Wondering if Joe Pass is a RCAF or RAF - any connection with "Snowy Owl" 420 ?

    Default J Pass

There was at least one Joseph Pass in the RAF,

Gazette Issue 36017 published on the 14 May 1943. Page 3 of 8
    Distinguished Flying Medal.

990571 Flight Sergeant Joseph PASS, No. 49 Squadron.

but at the same time, there were a number of men of that name registered born between 1908 and 1928 in the England and Wales registers.

    Default Casualty List

    PATS,

Pass apparently not RCAF. His name does not appear in the RCAF casualty list in which Wilde was reported missing.

    Hello Ken,

He was not with Crew "Wilde" that day - 2/3 Jul 1942 - Hampden - 420 RCAF
Crew was : Wilde, Bond, Crothers and Gibbs - all KIA

    Hello Dennis,

Do have 990571 - F/S Joseph Pass in KIA - 25th Jun 1943 - he is burried in Harderwijk.

Are there ORB of 420 RCAF Squadron ??

The name I got from the Wilde family, Alberta - is 'Air gunner' Joe Pass.
Looks like the photo is taken in the UK.
