    Default Bulldog 111S 29/12/33

Encouraged by the response to my last Bulldog query, here is another

Bulldog of 111S dig at Shenfield, Brentwood 29/12/33, Murphy RR killed.

Does anyone have the serial please. I have looked through the K File and the few J serials without seeing it.

    regards

    Dave,

    Some uncertainty on this one.

    From my Vol One:

    Fri 29 Dec 1933
    England
    Practice(?)
    111 Squadron, RAF (Hornchurch, Essex)
Bristol Bulldog IIA K1685(?) - forty minutes after take off crashed into a potato field at Hall Farm, Shenfield, near Brentwood, throwing out the pilot, who was killed. Bulldog K1685 was struck off Squadron strength 12 days later and is thought likely to have been the aircraft involved in this crash.
Pilot: Fg Off Ronald Rowley MURPHY, RAF - Age 24(?)

    And Amendment section Vol Three:

p59; MURPHY, R R buried at Hornchurch. His number is believed to be 32054. Correct age is 25.

    Errol
