    Default Sgt David Wallace, 628797

    Hi,

On 26th July 1940 Sgt David Wallace, 628797 was a Wop/Ag with 59 Squadron when he failed to return from a sortie. He is buried at Criel-sur-Mer Communal Cemetery, garve 9. Can't find anything on Chorleys BCL.

Does anyone know the circumstances surrounding the loss of his aircraft? Also any details of Davids time with 59 Sqn? David is on a local school Roll of Honour.

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

The excellent RAF Coastal Command Losses Vol 1 by Ross McNeill provides the answer:

Blenheim IV T1801 TR-T missing on op to Cherbourg. The two other crew are commemorated on Runnymede.

    Hi Linzee,

Thanks for the info. My copy is out on loan at the moment so I couldn't check.
