    the 24 November 1941 the F/O Peel Nicholas Richard (KIA)42431 140 Sqn was killed probably in the channel off Normandy I am looking for information on the circumstances the Serial and model of A/C and on the crew .

    He was the only crewman.

    This site, I've not read it but its a history of 140 Squadron lists:

    I take that as unknown the reason for his loss.

    I'm going to just add this as a suggestion, I'm sure it can be proved incorrect but Oblt. Bruno Stolle of JG2 claimed a Spitfire on this date but the websites I found it on (Les Butler's and others don;t have a location. Its probably un-connected.
