    Henk/Pavel,

Landed at Predannack, 22:24 hrs, 29th on the return from an operational sortie and damaged a tail wheel. A replacement was flown out and the repaired aircraft flew back with the three ground crew aboard. Stalled and dived into the ground on the approach to St.Eval, destroyed by fire and the subsequent explosion of the bomb load. All are buried in various cemeteries in England, Wales and Ireland.

    Regards
    Ross

    Hello Ross, Henk and Pavel,

Thank you all for your response to Sgt Powell's demise very interesting seeing that they had a bit of a mishap whilst on the outward journey and then the loss on return. The luck wasn't with them on that day it seems.

    Cheers.

    Steve.
