Default 56 OTU mid air collision 11/10/42

    Hi all,

I am interested in any details about mid air collision of Hurricanes P2799 and AG124.
AG124 was piloted by Czech W/O L. Zadrobilek who bailed out and I am interested in name of the second pilot (pupil) who crash landed at base.

    TIA

There was no entry in the ORB for this accident, it jumps from the 9th October to the 12th.

    Al and Pavel,
Collision happened 11th "September" 1942. Don't have info on P2799 that could land safely.
AG124 collided with P2799 near Forfar, Angus, and crashed Ordie Farm.
    Regards,
    Henk.

    Hi Henk,

made another cross check but L. Zadrobilek in his memories said it happened on 11.10.1942! And the same date is in his Log Book with note about his bale out...

The RAF Serials by Air Britain however has 11.9....

There was an accident recorded on the 11th September but not this one.

September 11th 1942, “Flying accident to Hurricane V7382, Pilot 1212560 Sgt Morgan was killed at Springfield Farm, Nr Coupar after colliding with chimney when carrying out authorised flying exercise not below 300 ft.”

The serial is hard to read and may not be correct.

Thanks Al & Dave. Again a name could be deleted because MORGAN was on my "unaccounted" list.
    Regards,
    Henk.
