Thanks Eddy and John. Z6949 was in my files as listed by Chorley. However my question remains open: what happened with Z6935 (Air Britain: 102 Sqn - ditched returning from Stettin - 30-9-1941) and who were the crew ?
    Regards,
    Henk.

Sorry - I haven't looked at the ORB yet but the Whitley file says "stalled and crashed in circuit at Dishforth on return from Berlin, 7 Sept 1941".

    Bit of a confusing one!

Hi Col I think that you have a tiger by the tail there as accordording to the Whitley File Z6935 Stalled and crashed in the circuit at Dishforth on return from Berlin Sept 7th.
Where Chris has the 9th of September returning from Kassel and Bill chorley doesn't show it at all,not surprising as he can only go on records and I know from fact that he doesn't show two we left around the country.
If you are that interested I will be talking to Roy Whipple before christmas and ask him, but he is getting rather absent minded.

    G'Day Ed,

Don't push it, after all it is 67 years down the track. Wish him a Merry Christmas, and tell him his efforts are not forgotten.
