HI
This aircraft was reported missing, while on an exercise off the Isle of Man on the 23rd June 1941 while with the Central Gunnery School. It would seem that the Central Gunnery School moved from Warmwell to Castle Kennedy on the 23rd. So did L4199 take off on its last flight from Warmwell or Castle kennedy ? Thanks for any info you can provide.
Regards
Tommy

Hi Tommy
All I can find is in Hampden File~:
(p95)
L4199 185 / 10 BGS / CGS 23/6/41 Rolled on to back and dived into sea off Isle of Man F/Sgt Cannell and three crew. All Missing Training.
L4199 of Central Gunnery School was flying in formation with two other CGS Hampdens near the Isle of Man on 23 June 1941 when, at 1413 hours it "broke away at a height of about 300 feet, turned upwards into cloud and was not seen again". Four men "missing". (p167)
Hope this is of help
James
