Not sure if this helps or hinders, there is a 24 year old John MacKinnon on the Marine Register entry, on Scotlands people. Can;t view it due lack of credits. Can't properly match his birth but I think I found his parents marriage in Q2 1917 in Sussex. Possibly married in 1941 in Norfolk.

    However,.....

There is a 25 year old John MacKinnon age 25 registered in Ploughley and Bullingdon district, Oxfordshire in Q1 1942. No other names matching for that period in CWGC. He is buried in Caversfield, Oxfordshire, and that town/village is in that district.

Thanks Col for info on WOOLDRIDGE; must have been minor damage to Z7454 as it was lost just 4 days later (BCL 2/151).

Also seize this thread as an opportunity to thank you Dennis for all info on airmen.
    regards,
    Henk.

    Col,
Again a question mark on WOOLDRIDGE - 565236; he is listed by the CWGC as 139 Sqn (at that time based Oulton, Norfolk). Air Britain for Z7454: 105/88 sqn.
    Please advise.
    Regards,
    Henk.

I was concerned that posting this next batch of answers from the F1180s would have put Henk under too much pressure to update after his request to remove his user name.

I now post them to contine his legacy on RAF Commands.

West confirmed by F1180 as sole fatality on Oxford V3783

Hi. I know this post was a long time ago but Mackinnon 580619 was my grandad. Obviously I never met him as he died very young. What would you like to know about him?

Henk unfortunately died a few years ago (he was trying to record specific details about all allied airman deaths in world war 2) but I am sure if you could supply information about how your granddad died we would much appreciate it recorded here

    kind regards

The England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), for John Mackinnon presented on Ancestry.com states he died at Bicester, Oxfordshire

    Hello

F/Sgt Bertie C. WOOLDRIDGE - DFM - 565236 - a family tree on ancestry.co.uk records that he died at Margate General Hospital.
